How to swallow a pill?

hi i am 16 years old, now at this age the doctors prescribe pills as medication, when i say i cant swallow a pill i am embarresed because i have time and time again have said it and it sounds like he is getting annoyed :(, can anyone give me any tips on hwo to swallow a pill easy?
