LG octane problem?!?!?

me and my parents both got the new lg octane through verizon wireless, when i asked if i could see one where i could turn on and play with, u know, to see how it works and everything? well i think they activated that one because i have this problem with the hinges, the two little things that connect the one, they squeak when i open and close it, my parents phones dont do that so idk why mine does i mean i have dropped it, ive been taking really good care of it actually, i just dont know, should i return it to the verizon store and get a new one?
