Is this a good job/moving out on?

I start monday on training in a local nursing home in the kitchen. from 6 am to 2 pm about 4 days a week until im full time. The pay is 9.25 an hour plus benifits. Do most nursing homes allow you to gain more money fast? and is this a descent job to move out on into an apartment, my fiancee has a ful time job at around 8.50 an hour also
