Is this a catchy beginning?

This might not be as helpful as other comments, but personally, even if the writing is crisp and powerful I'm turned off by any story opening with a dream. I feel tricked, and the more I'm sucked into the dream story the more tricked I feel when I find out it was a dream, and I have to shift gears into a completely different reality. There are places in a story where it can work, but at the very beginning I tend to consider it a fairly cheap device that makes me less inclined to continue, instead of more.
