There is something (lint?) inside my D60 viewfinder - can I clean it?

It looks like a small piece of thread, perhaps lint from clothing. I cannot remove it by wiping the outside of the viewfinder, nor can I see it unless I look through the eyepiece. It is not on the lens, and does not appear in pictures, thank goodness, but it is there any way that I can remove it?
