Sims 2 on mac!!!!! help!!!!!?

ok. so i have sims 2 for my mac and i am going insane. everytime i try to play it and im in the middle of a game the game closes down and a little window comes up and says the application has closed unexpectidley. i looked it up and people keep saying that i should uninstall the sims and then install it agin. but it wont uninstall!!! help!!!!!! if you give me a good answer ill choose you as best and love you forever!!!!
